Coconut is non-toxic to cats, but it does contain medium chain triglycerides, which may cause some gastrointestinal upset and bloating. Cats should avoid coconut water, due to its high levels of potassium. Cats can eat coconut oil as well as bite-size pieces of coconut meat.
Caution: Foods that are high in fat should only be fed in moderation, as the link between too much fat and pancreas problems in cats is still being studied. Read more.
